Ivy Street Ensemble

Having played together since 2001, the nationally recognized Ivy Street Ensemble is based in Denver, Colorado. Ivy Street Ensemble delights audiences across the country with a variety of music ranging from classical standards to commissioned new compositions by cutting edge composers. The ensemble is a core group of three musicians(Cathy Peterson, Erik Peterson and Philip Stevens), and they collaborate with various instruments such as double bass, cello, oboe and harp to enjoy a wide range of repertoire.

Ivy Street Ensemble has performed throughout Colorado at a variety of concert venues ranging from large venues such as Boettcher Concert Hall and the Ellie Caulkins Recital Hall to the nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and homeless shelters; sharing music with a diverse population. In addition to their live concert performances, they can be heard in Oregon as part of the Chintimini Chamber Music Festival and classical music lovers in Denver can hear them frequently broadcast on Colorado Public Radio.

Ivy Street Ensemble was selected by Chamber Music America to have a composition commissioned for their trio by Kenji Bunch. They were finalists in the National Flute Association Chamber Music Competition in Kansas City, MO, and returned to perform the Serenade by Kenji Bunch at the National Flute Convention in San Diego, CA. Ivy Street Ensemble was awarded a grant by the Australia Arts Council for a commission of a triple concerto by Australian Composer Maria Grenfell. “…And the Air was Dancing,” was premiered in Denver by the Ivy Street Ensemble with the Denver School of the Arts Orchestra, and in Fort Collins, Colorado, with Front Range Chamber Players. Ivy Street Ensemble was awarded  Second Place for The American Prize Chamber Music.
